The Incident That
Changed Everything for Us

  1. When the Threat Felt Real

We were assigned to book an MS-13 member arrested by a federal task force. For two hours, he threatened to find our founder’s home and kill his wife and family. It was the first time a threat truly felt real. If he had reached our families, we knew we would never have forgiven ourselves.

That night, a quick Google search revealed our founder’s home address, phone number, relatives, and their information across hundreds of websites.

  2. Taking Our Privacy Back

We began removing those listings by hand, spending more than 10 hours working through the sites exposing our personal information.

  3. The Information Came Back

We noticed many of the same sites had republished our information after purchasing data from additional sources, even after we had removed it. A one-time removal wasn’t enough.

We explored services that could handle the removals for us, but we weren’t satisfied with the number of sources they covered or the cost.

  4. Data Hound Officially Launches

We spent the years that followed figuring out what worked best, offered the most protection, and stayed affordable. In May 2024, we officially launched Data Hound to help keep officers and their families safe.

Today, we work with associations, departments, and individual cops across the country. And we’re still on the job.
